Verderflex Reinforced Hoses

The successful use of hose pumps in a number of situations led Verder to develop a hose with an enhanced construction. Hoses in peristaltic pumps generally fail due to fatigue of the reinforcement layer. Verder hoses are specifically designed and manufactured to maximise fatigue resistance, resulting in an extremely long hose service life. Verderflex Hose Specification

  • 12 standard hose sizes from 5mm (3/16”) to 125mm (5”)
  • All hoses are designed to maximize hose life by increasing the the hoses’ fatigue strength
  • Standard VF Hoses are available in Natural Rubber (NR), Nitrile Buna Rubber (NBR), Food Grade NBR (NBRF), EPDM and Hypalon® (CSM)
  • Hoses have colour coded identification tapes bonded into the outer surface during manufacture to clearly identify material type.

NR – Natural Rubber
Suitable for use with lightly corrosive chemicals, highly abrasive slurries and inorganic products.
Temperature range -20°C/-5°F to +80°C/+175°F

NBR – Nitrile Buna RubberThe hose is particularly suitable for use with oily or fatty products and with organic materials.
Temperature range -20°C/-5°F to +80°C/+175°F

Food Grade – NBRF
The NBRF hose has an FDA CFR21 & EC No. 1935/2004 approved food grade liner for use in hygienic applications. Temperature range -20°C/-5°F to +80°C/+175°F
EPDM
This hose is suitable for corrosive chemicals and inorganic products. Solid construction, made totally from EPDM rubber. Temperature range -20°C/-5°F to +100°C/+210°F
Hypalon – CSM
The CSM or Hypalon® hose is used to pump highly corrosive products. The hose has a CSM inner liner and an SBR/NR outer cover. Temperature range -20°C/-5°F to +85°C/+175°F
Verderprene

Verderflex Tubing

For safety reasons we do not recommend pumping liquids greater than 85°C (185°F).

Verderflex produces a range of standard tubing to meet the requirements of the wide and varied applications of its tube pumps.

However, not all tubes are suitable for use in a peristaltic pump. The following criteria are important when selecting a tube:

  • Chemical resistance
  • Food grade quality
  • Tube life
  • Physical compatibility

Verderprene – General Purpose Tubing
The standard choice for use in peristaltic tube pumps. This beige coloured tube has:

  • Excellent mechanical strength
  • Wide chemical resistance, excellent strength against oxidising agents (ozone, peroxides and hypochlorides)
  • Temp. range: +10°C to + 85°C (50°F – 185°F)
  • Food Grade Meets FDA, EC1935 USP class VI and NSF criteria
  • Can be autoclaved
  • Compatible with most CIP solutions and SIP

Silicone – High Sterility Tubing
A translucent medical/food grade tubing which is odourless, non-toxic and has FDA and USP Class VI approvals. It is

  • Autoclavable and is used in many applications
  • Temp. range: – 20 to + 80°C (4°F to 185°F)
  • Meets FDA, EC1935 USP Class VI and NSF criteria
  • Platinum cured for redued resdual levels of siloxanes and other volailes
  • Reduced spallation than Verderprene

Tygon – Chemical Fluids Tubing
Specifically designed to handle many fuels and industrial lubricants this tubing resists the swelling and hardening caused by the chemical attack due to hydrocarbon based fluids. These properties significantly reduce the risk of failure due to cracking and leakage.

  • Temp. range: 0°C to +50°C (32°F to 122°F)
  • Yellow colour for positive identification
  • Suitable for many fuels, heating oils, glycol, coolants and cutting fluids

Viton – Aggressive Chemical Tubing
Viton is strong, resilient and flexible tube which provides excellent resistance to corrosive acids, alkalis and some solvents.

  • Temp. range: 0°C to + 85°C (32°F to 185°F)
  • Resists ozone, sunlight and weathering
  • Opaque black color helps protect light sensitive fluids

Verderflex Advanced Hose Pump Lubricant

Peristaltic hose pumps such as the VF and Dura, require lubrication to work effectively and to maximise the service life of the hose. Verderflex have developed Verderlube and Verdersil high performance lubricants, which is specifically designed to work with the Verderflex hose range. Additionally, the textured surface of the Verderflex hose creates micropockets of lubrication which promotes even coverage along the hose, assisting in the hose cooling process and extending hose life.

Verderflex have two standard lubricants covering the majority of all applications however, if you require an alternative lubricant please contact us and we will be able to offer advice on the most suitable product.

Verderlube Glycerine Based Lubricant
Verderlube is a specially formulated food grade lubricant containing glycerine. This lubricant promotes heat transfer from the hose to the pump casing to maximise hose life.
The lubricant is blue in colour and can be used at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 100°C  (-40°F to 210°F).

Verdersil Silicon Based Lubricant
In most cases Verderlube is a very stable compound, but where it could react adversely or dangerously when mixed with certain nitrogenous compounds (such as Nitric Acid), strong oxidising agents (Peroxides) and certain other expthermic reactants chemicals including Potassium Permanganate. Then an alternate lubricant is required.
In these cases or at elevated temperatures, Verderflex recommends use of a silicone oil based product, Verdersil.
